The 10 o clock horses are a festival party band based in the very heart of Nottinghamshire UK. Their style of music ranges from calm to a manic acoustic mix of folk, gypsy, roots, ska and punk.
The 10 o clock horses began back in 1996 with a bunch of friends who decided that they could bring together their own unique style of music, that was different than mainstream bands and so the fun began
Over the years they have had a wealth of musicians that have joined them along their journey from all corners of the country, boasting up to 9 members at some points throughout our travels
Currently they have four regular multitasking musician touring (male and female lead vocals, acoustic guitars,, bouzouki violin, saxophone, penny whistle, bass guitar, cajon, djembe`s) this line-up grows regularly! |

Get to bed before the 10 oclock horses get ya!
‘Thats what we were told by our mums and dads to get us to bed when we were young. The thought of headless horsemen racing through the streets certainly did get us into bed but I think it also affected our minds in a somewhat disturbing way!
In reality though the 10 o clock horses (also referred to as the gong men, night riders among others) were no more than people that use to come with the horse and cart and collect all of the human waste from the bottom of the garden toilet late at night ,It is also believed that they used the nitrate out of the waste to make gunpowder |

' the band seem to throw themselves almost self-sacrificially into the heat of the event in the name of the Gods of Live Music and Beer- a religion I think we should all join up to '
'They mix so many styles but are so good at them all, mixing the upbeat and purposeful sounds of Folk/punk with the chilled and funky sound of dub and ska '
'The best thing to come out of Nottingham since Robin hood'
“Good evening pissheads” is the most appropriate opening to a set I think I’ve heard in a while, and no surprises that it’s from the 10 o’clock Horses! The room has suddenly filled up and it’s full of those who have chosen to partake of the bar’s offerings in copious amounts, but the atmosphere is superb! Like baying wolves, the audiences drooling is fed a still kicking live deer of folk, punk, ska rocking stuff that moulds and resets into a different form with every tune. |
